My Characters

In my years online, I've become host to several brainchildren and personas that have developed either with my coaxing or come into existance out of nowhere. Here I have cataloged all, or at least most, of my personas and characters all in one place.

First and foremostly, wherever I go online, I am known as Karma. It was my first chosen persona and I've bent it to suit whatever universe I end up in...hense why I have several different characters that all share the name.

For your amusement, or lack thereof, we have the trifecta of Karmas as shown above. These all exist in different universes apart from one another and I'm quite certain if they ever were to meet, the world would end.

Karma Kitsune - This is my Gaia persona and the youngest of the three. Basically she was invented when I decided that there was no way in hell I would be able to recreate either of the previous two Karmas with the options available to me. The best I could possibly hope for would be a fox, ergo I compromised and made myself a foxcoon, modelled after one of my lesser characters, Jink.

Since then, she took on a life of her own and has become a very nurturing sort who seems to be a magnet for drama, comedy, and children that need mothering. Happy-go-lucky and smart-mouthed, she enjoys nothing more than a laugh at someone else's expense, but will at least have the decency to stick around afterward and help them pick up the pieces.

Karma Koopa - The "middle child" of the three of them. Karma Koopa, or as I like to call her "the little Mary Sue that could" was created for my involvement in the koopa fandom. She's a yoshi/koopa hybrid who was created for the fanfic series I was working on and is attached to Ludwig Von Koopa. She has a pretty abrasive attitude and is very take-charge...also quite hokey, looking back on her. For some unknown and ungodly reason, she became popular in a big way. I have no idea what people found appealing about her or why they continue to like her, I just know that I never understood and still don't.

Karma Leafbarer - The one who started it all and the grizzled old veteran of my online personas. She was first invented for the Starfox universe as a character in a fanfic of mine that met an early demise (both she AND the fanfic). She was since salvaged as a persona and has undergone changes here and there, but has remained ultimately the same throughout the years. She's my single self-insertion character who is basically just me in tree frog form. This is who most people know and recognize me as online.

Being a tomboy at heart and having many male friends, male characters are fun for me to make attempts at playing. I'm not sure if I do it convincingly as most of my surrounding company is female and knows that its me at the controls, but I like to think that I do.

Name: Mekakushi Teru
AKA: Meka, Coonjab
Gender: Male
Species: Raccoon anthro/human mix
Age: 24
Sexuality: gay
Relationship: S-D (played by Starluck)

Personality: Rude, standoffish, a bit self-centered. He's a basket of emotional issues after a rather terrible patch earlier on in his life and is slowly learning to trust people again. Having to deal with his partner, who's even more unstable than he is, has put a lot of things into perspective for Meka and he's since found less-direct outlets for his anger such as writing and video games.

Likes: sex, video games, peanut butter, Broadway musicals, the night, S-D, kids (he'll never admit it), fresh laundry, sleeping in, purple, going for long drives

Dislikes: a great deal of humanity, jehovahs witnesses, having to talk on the phone, getting up early, being nagged, cranberries, chick flicks, talking about his issues, racists, ballet

Background: Meka was the middle child of three children and the only son of Bakuto and Elizabeth Teru. When Meka was eight years old, his father died of a massive heart attack, leaving him and his sisters in the care of his mother. Elizabeth never quite recovered from the shock of losing her husband and retreated into herself heavily, gaining an unhealthy amount of weight and participating as little as possible in the upbringing of her kids. His older sister, Joan, joined the army and left home as soon as she was old enough, leaving Meka and his younger sister, Lina, to take care of one another.
She and Meka, knowing their situation, both realized that running away was not an option of theirs and that their only real hope was to do well in school, get decent jobs, and get out that way. Meka graduated from high school third in his class and was offered an academic scholarship to Burrdale university which he eagerly accepted and began his fall semester.
As the resident "bookworm" of his dorm, Meka didn't have many friends and wasn't particularly bothered by it either. On one particular afternoon, while studying in an off-campus cafe where he was having lunch, he met an older man who called himself Roan. The two struck up conversation and hit it off rather well. So well, in fact, that a week later Roan had ingratiated himself as Meka's boyfriend and spent every waking minute with him.
As such, Meka's studies suffered and his grades fell. He was notified that, if things didn't change, he would be unable to keep his scholarship. Roan leapt at the opportunity to tell him that he didn't need college, he could simply get a job and move in with him. It was an attractive proposition that Meka quickly took him up on. The academic drop was made and Meka and Roan were soon living together happily...or so it seemed.
As the months wore on, their living situation gradually deteriorated. Half-hearted lovetaps and tweaks became full-blown slaps and pinches. The transition had been so gradual that Meka wasn't quite sure when exactly it was that Roan had begun to abuse him. His lover-turned-captor began to get ungodly suspicious of Meka and confined his activity to their apartment, not allowing him to leave. When that was no longer satisfactory, he took to locking him in the bedroom, and finally to cuffing him to the bedpost.
For nearly a year, Meka endured the mistreatment, thoroughly browbeaten into thinking that there was no escape from the prison of the apartment. When Roan came to the realization that he'd grown bored of Meka, yet knew he couldn't let him go without fear of him telling someone what had happened, the only solution seemed to be to kill him. In an attempt to curry Meka's battered trust one last time, Roan unshackled him and treated him well for a few days, telling him of plans to go away for the weekend.
At the end of the week, Roan drove the two of them out to a remote motel on the edge of town where he blindfolded and bound Meka, fixed a noose to the light fixture, and attempted to hang him. As luck had it, the light fixture was too flimsy to hold the raccoon's weight and tore out of the ceiling. Roan fled the scene as a terrified Meka cried for help. When the police arrived on-scene and he was cut free, Meka refused to say how it was he'd ended up in that situation, so deeply did his fear of Roan run.
Unable to get anything out of him, Meka was released back into his mother's care where, as he attempted to re-acclimate himself to his normal lifestyle, he'd undergone a drastic personality change. No longer was he ambitious and hopeful, he'd become withdrawn, nasty, and overly-defensive. His attempts at promiscuity ended in tears as he found that he was no longer able to engage in intimacy without panicking
After attacking Lina one night, his mother kicked him out of her house and he was told never to come back. After living a short time on the street, he gathered up what was left of his dignity and enrolled in a placement program for youths. It was through this that he was relocated to a household shared by two young women (Karma and Starluck) and his now-lover, S-D. After a rocky beginning, he remains there to this day.

Name: Talonfaust Breslin
AKA: Talon, Tal
Gender: Male
Species: ijiuo
Age: about 2 but appears in his late twenties
Sexuality: straight
Relationship: Yeande (played by Youko)

Personality: Withdrawn, profane, distrustful, and very protective of those he cares about to the point of coming across as obsessive at times. He does his best to show a cold exterior to most, but casts it aside for those he cares about in a somewhat-startling display of yin and yang.

Likes: silence, horror novels/movies/video games, Yeande, water, cranberry juice, sushi

Dislikes: being harrassed, egotists, strawberries (allergic), rainbows, strangers, crowded areas, deep water, insects

Background: Talon's existance is best described as a freak occurance when a draconic soultoucher relic came in contact with a wayward elvin soul. The meeting of the two resulted in a supernova of magic which spontaneously spawned him in turn. Oddly enough, though he is made up of two lives, he has no recollection of either of them.
As far as he knows, only one other exists like him and that someone is his lover and soulmate, Yeande. Fate was in their favor as their personalities meshed together well and formed a sturdy foundation for a relationship. However, fate proved to be a fickle mistress when the two of them recently discovered that they have a child on the way...
